Differentiated Instruction

Research clearly shows that using differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner accelerates academic gains.  Collaborative Learning enables teachers to use differentiated instruction techniques by providing real-time data showing specific areas of student weaknesses, and providing access to the world's largest collection of curriculum material to meet their needs.

Curriculum Improvement Studio empowers daily, standards-based formative assessment through our StandardsScore module.  StandardsScore facilitates differentiated instruction by allowing teachers to transform daily homework, projects, quizzes, and tests into powerful curriculum-based assessments that pinpoint areas of student need.  Real-time trend data, integrated into normal classroom routines to ensure its usage, provides clear and continuous indicators of areas for direct instruction and tiered intervention.

Our Curriculum Mapper module, with the included Global Search Curriculum Library, provides teachers with one-click access to curriculum materials and maps.  Teachers interested in differentiated instruction can access curriculum from across their district and around the world.  For instance, teachers can access materials used by specialty resource teachers to augment current instruction and implement differentiated instruction for specific special-needs populations.

The integrated Instruction Planner module provides for differentiated instruction by enabling teachers to plan instruction to specific standards-based areas of need.  Teachers can match their instructional plans directly to the demonstrated needs of students, integrating differentiated instruction from the planning process to the final exam.

The power of differentiated instruction and its implementation differ across school sites, classroom, and curricula.  Specific "Differentiated Instruction" programs may provide "leveled content" that can be matched to student skills based on placement tests or other evaluations.
